Love One Another

“Dear friends, I am not writing a new commandment for you; rather it is an old one you have had from the very beginning. This old commandment—to love one another—is the same message you heard before.Yet it is also new. Jesus lived the truth of this commandment, and you also are living it. For the darkness is disappearing, and the true light is already shining.”  1 John 2:7-8 (NLT)

The church should be a haven of love for the hurting. Every Sunday morning, strangers, first time visitors, find their way into our congregations through the front door. They are  looking to find someone/family to love them. To show them the love of Jesus (even when they don't know that is what they are searching for!). The church is built upon the capacity to express our love to God as well as our hurting neighbor, not bigger and better programs. Love builds the church.

Easter is coming quickly, a time when many people will be visiting our churches, many of these people may never have thought of walking into a church except during Easter or Christmas…..Lets give them a reason to come back! Start praying now for these “new people” that a
once/twice yearly visit turns into a new way of life. A new life in Christ, revelation that living for God, being a Christian is not something that sits on a shelf gathering dust through the year and only brought down on holidays and “in case of emergency” needs.

Pray for new ways to love one another, to reach out to others. That people may walk in strangers but do not stay that way, they become family.

Pray for wisdom and discernment for new ways to make connections with people you meet and come in contact everyday.

Love and Blessings!
