"Then Jesus made a circuit of all the towns and villages. He taught in their meeting places, reported kingdom news, and healed their diseased bodies, healed their bruised and hurt lives. When he looked out over the crowds, his heart broke. So confused and aimless they were, like sheep with no shepherd. "What a huge harvest!" he said to his disciples. "How few workers! On your knees and pray for harvest hands!" Matthew 9:35-38 (The Message)
As we look out and see so much needing to be done we could become discouraged, I mean look at the verses above. Even Jesus “heart broke”, seeing how many were in need, with seemingly so few workers available. Jesus didn't stay in that place of “o, what do we do?” He knew what to do! Right now we just need to follow his example.
“So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.”(Matt.9:38 NLT)
Lord, what we need today are people—people that are willing to serve, to give, to labor with compassion among the people. We need people whose hearts are broken for the condition of God's people. This is what we pray. Amen—so be it Lord.
Love and Blessings!
