One of the greatest honors we can bestow upon our pastors is to consistently pray for them. The enemy works hard to fool us into thinking that pastors don’t need prayer or that our prayers for them are ineffective. But, that is not true. Your pastor is counting on your prayers and in times of trouble he will greatly benefit from them. I believe that we should set aside some time daily to pray for our pastors and their families. It doesn't always have to be a formal time and in a specific setting. Do it whenever God puts your Pastor on your heart. When you are driving along and you suddenly think of your Pastor, pray for him. Take it as a cue from God and do it right then. Remember, you don’t have to be in a specific setting and your prayer does not have to be long.
Pray for God to guide them, give them supernatural strength, protect them, and give them wisdom. There are many other things we can pray so it is important to ask the Holy Spirit to guide your prayers for them.
"Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God." Romans 8:26-27 (KJV)
Love and Blessings!
